Fair Question. Most lifts are not ALI Certified, and we carry many lifts that are, and many that are not ALI Certified. All things being equal, if two similar lifts are near the same price point, and one is ALI Certified, and one lift is not, we would almost always recommend getting the ALI Certified lift.
ALI is the Automotive Lift Institute. And they are the only recognized authority on lift quality and safety factors. They perform stringent testing of key safety and quality features of lifts. Many lifts may not meet their requirements for approval.
This does not mean that all non-ALI Certified lifts are no good. It just means that you should perform your own research to make sure it is a good quality lift.
We carry many non ALI Certified lifts that are great, and in some cases, could be ALI Certified if the manufacturer chose to get them certified. Many times, manufacturers choose not to get their lifts ALI Certified so that they can meet lower price points for budget minded customers.
